Julien Maurin (Ford Fiesta WRC) is in the lead at the end of the first stage of the 56th Rally of the Cévennes. The new champion, titled before the start following the absence of Jean-Marie Cuoq, has a 48-second lead over the Citroën DS3 WRC of Jean-François Mourgues while Ludovic Gal (Ford Fiesta S2000) completes the top three at more than a minute. Jean-Nicolas Hot (Subaru Impreza N15) and Laurent Laskowski (DS3 R3) complete the top five, separated by 16 seconds. Pierre Roché (Mini Countryman WRC) retired on the second special due to contact.
