The Catalan Gilles Roca returned to the competition with a Subaru finally up to par, after the struggles of 2017. He was uncompromising from the start on Saturday, very quickly getting rid of Burnens (DS3), going off the road, and pointing with more than 1′ ahead at the end of the first day. Chivayadel set off in pursuit before losing control of the other local, Richard Génesca, four-time winner here and who was catching some air during the night specials. These three remained in this order on Sunday while Janel, clear winner of the GT group, returned to 4e place, taking advantage of Jacques' mechanical problems (Saxo kit car). Frontier and its Clio R3 entered the Top 5 while Macary (group F 2000) and Rouquette (Clio Ragnotti, group N), seconded from the start, won in their respective groups. A. Lauret
