Ronde de la Giraglia – Attacking Cap Corse

The Ronde de la Giraglia, an essential event of the second division French Rally Championship, once again presents an exceptional route in the heart of the Corsican Cape.

Its first edition was won by Jean Pierre Manzagol in 1970. With 16 victories, the Bastia driver acquired the credentials of “King of the Cape”.

The peak of the round was in the 70s when it was part of the French Rally Championship until 1979, culminating in the European Rally Championship in 1975.

The start is located on the magnificent Place de Saint Nicolas de Bastia, with a first night special on the heights of Cardo before heading towards Cap Corse for the two stages on Saturday and Sunday.

This year, we find 4 former winners: Hugo Micheli in 2021, Jean Marc Manzagol in 2020, Jean François Succi in 2015 and Daniel Rognoni winner in 1982.

Mickael Reydellet, leader of the second division championship as well as Eddie Lemaître who occupies the third step of the podium will be present to play for victory and collect valuable points in Michelin Rally Tour. The list of contenders is long with Rossel, Moracchini, Argenti, Santini,… The fight for the scratch promises to be exciting with no less than 16 R5s entered and 2 WRC.

88 crews entered in modern, 12 entered in VHC and 8 in VHRS, will meet this Friday evening around 20:30 p.m. for the first warm-up special.
