Back on the calendar after a year of absence, the northern event allowed Laurent Bayard to improve his personal statistics. The driver of the venerable Corolla WRC had to do battle at the start of the event with a sparkling Victorien Heuninck who was testing a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 gr.N, before gradually loosening the grip at the end of the first stage, and the next day on a more favorable course.

Author of a scratch time, the cross-border rider confirmed his peak speed and scored his first podium on French territory. The Belgian Delplace completed the trifecta in an original Octavia WRC. Further on, Saint Requier regained control against Pyck. Coming to prepare for the Tour de Corse, Terry Folb finished in a superb 6th place and even claimed Group R after Pavy's withdrawal.

AUTOhebdo wishes “Chris” a speedy recovery.
