Sardinia – SS18: Smooth start, scratch for Tänak

It was to be expected. With the gaps in the overall standings already widened and places almost assured for everyone, the drivers did not start the day flat out. Back after his abandonment the day before, Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) is the perfect illustration of this. The Belgian finished 1 full minute behind his teammate Ott Tänak, author of the best time in 8'30″2, 1″7 ahead of Esapekka Lappi (Toyota).

Overall, no changes are to be reported. Ott Tänak is still firmly in the lead, now 49″7 ahead of Craig Breen (M-Sport) compared to 46 seconds at the start this Sunday morning. Dani Sordo (Hyundai) completes the Top 3.
