Shakedown Cyprus: Sordo in front!

This morning, the crews engaged on the Rally of Cyprus had the opportunity to test their settings, on asphalt and dirt tires, during a Shakedown organized in Listovounos, 15 km north of Limassol, over a 4,49 kilometer sector under beautiful sun and temperature of 19°C.

It was Dani Sordo, asphalt specialist, who set the best time of this Shakedown. The Spaniard completed four stints at the wheel of the C4 WRC, with a best time of 3?33.0 recorded on his second attempt.

“Everything went well this morning. I really like these asphalt stages, which remind me of Catalonia. That said, we will not be able to approach them in the same way as a traditional asphalt rally. It's obviously not ideal to drive on dirt tires on this terrain, but it was a useful test to get our bearings and work on the car's settings. She's doing well at the moment and that's all that matters. », he commented.

Note that Petter Solberg on his Xsara achieves the second fastest time, at the end of the session, on a dirty road. The Norwegian is definitely in good shape. He is ahead Sébastien Ogier and Sébastien Loeb which complete a Top 4 entirely made up of Citroëns.
