Jean-Marie Cuoq sees his duel for victory with Julien Maurin (Ford Fiesta RS WRC) terminate prematurely. The Citroën C4 WRC driver was forced to retire following a mechanical problem. He leaves Julien Maurin in the lead this evening at the end of the first stage with a 31″7 lead over Quentin Gilbert (C4 WRC), author of the scratch on this last SS of the day. Pierre Roché finds himself 3rd with his Mini JCW WRC one minute from the race lead. Eric Brunson (Ford Fiesta RS WRC) is 4th at 1'12"6 ahead of Lionel Baud (Ford Fiesta RS WRC) at 2'03"9.
Dans les Trophée Michelin, Marc Amourette (Citroën DS3 R3) est le nouveau leader devant Gilles Nantet et sa Porsche 911 GT2 et la Ford Fiesta R5 de Jean-Charles Beaubelique. Patrick Rouillardest 4e sur l’autre Porsche 911 997 Cup. Manu Guigou, qui était au contact des deux voitures allemandes, a perdu plus d’une minute dans l’ES7 sur sortie et pointe au 13e rang du général. Il perd la tête du classement Deux Roues Motrices.
Finally in 208 Rally, Stéphane Lefebvre had a worry-free day and was ahead of Charles Martin by 9″6 at the end of this first stage.
