An expected return for the Dieppe-Normandie Rally

The flagship event of Normandy rallies with its status as the 2nd Division French Championship, Dieppe-Normandie is making its comeback on the calendar. After two years of absence, including a last minute cancellation in 2021 by local authorities, the Rally from Dieppe-Normandie is taking advantage of this return to offer a new format. After a “noon-midnight” formula over one day, the rally organized by the ASA Pays de Dieppe now takes place over two stages contested Friday evening and Saturday. Eleven special stages spread over 144,35 kilometers await the 112 crews on the entry list.

On Friday, the competitors will compete in two special stages by the light of headlights, including a section of 23,45 kilometers (the Jacquemarts) which could prove decisive. The next day, the survivors of the first stage will tackle a loop of three special stages to be run three times between 10:42 a.m. and 19:16 p.m. With 111,45 kilometers on the program, this last stage promises to be intense with high speeds which also require a certain amount of management of their mount.

Sportingly, 14 Rally2/R5s appear on the entry list. Winner of the last three editions (2017,2018, 2019 and 3), Marc Amourette (C2 Rally48) is the big favorite for this 5th edition. Michael Reydellet (Polo GTI R2) and Eddie Lemaître (Fabia RallyXNUMX Evo, in photo © Pierre Simenel), who came to score big points in the French 2nd Division Championship and the Michelin Rally Tour will be closely monitored. Present with a C3 Rally2 operated by the PH Sport team that he is going to discover, Eric Brunson could well see himself adding his name a third time to the winners of the event.

All these Rally2/R5s will have to be wary of Anthony Cosson's captivating and powerful 991 GT3 Cup GT+. The pilot of the Porsche has come close to victory twice in recent years. The dry conditions expected on the Seinomarine specials could be favorable to the powerful GT driven by Cosson, already winner of three rallies out of four starts this season.
