The Herock Spa Rally (March 9 and 10) will host a Renault Clio with slightly special technical characteristics. Powered by a 1,6-liter turbocharged 290-horsepower unit, the French sedan hasall-wheel drive. It meets specific regulations for the events of the Spanish Rally Championship (class N5), and will benefit from an exemption to race in Belgium outside the classification.

“The formula is significantly less expensive (than the R4 class), explains driver Florian Jupsin. The N5s are built on an identical base and also use common mechanical components. They are distinguished only by the top of the chassis and there, various models are offered: Renault Clio, Ford Fiesta, Citroën DS3 and C3, Peugeot 208 and 308, VW Polo. This approach makes it possible to build spectacular, high-performance and fun-to-drive cars. for a price much lower than that of the R4 kit designed by Oreca. Currently, there are around twenty copies and the formula is set to experience great growth. »
