Forced to achieve a good result to maintain a chance of winning the French Champion title, Quentin Giordano (Polo GTI R5-Sarrazin Motorsport) was the fastest in the 15,15 kilometers of the Gonfaron special.
The Nancy driver is ahead of Nicolas Ciamin (Fabia Rally2 evo-Oreca Store) by 3,8 seconds. The recent winner of the Rally d'Antibes confirms its intentions for its second appearance in the French Championship this season.
Back in rallying after Monte-Carlo 2020, Stéphane Sarrazin (Polo GTi Rally2-Sarrazin Motorsport) completes the Top 3 of this first special.
For his part, Yoann Bonato (C3 Rally2-CHL Sport Auto) is not obliged to launch a big attack to win the title. The 2 Alpes driver limited his risk-taking to set the fourth fastest time ahead of Pierre Roché (C3 Rally2-Team FJ).
The special was then canceled after Ludovic Gal (Polo GTI R5-Sarrazin Motorsport) went off the road.
