The first special of the second stage of the Rally du Var, last round of the 2014 French Rally Championship, saw Julien Maurin (Ford Fiesta) achieve a scratch. The reigning French Champion is 7″5 ahead of Sébastien Loeb (Citroen DS3 WRC), author of a poor choice of tires, and returns to the overall standings 8″ behind the nine-time world champion. This SS4 (but the third run, after the cancellation yesterday of the Roquebrune secreur) was marked by the exit of the road of Frédéric Comte, who was second in the event before this first timed sector of the day. David Salanon (Ford Fiesta), third in this SS3, takes third place overall, but more than 48″ from the Loeb – Maurin duo.
