Var ES5 – Bonato returns to Ciamin

Leader on the evening of the first stage, Stéphane Sarrazin (Polo GTi Rally2-Sarrazin Motorsport) made the decision not to leave this morning in order to stay as close as possible to his team, affected by the serious accident of his teammates Ludovic Gal and Geoffrey Combe. This is also the mark of great champions.

Sportingly, the rain fell at the start of this second stage and each driver opted for different tire choices.

Setting out to reduce the gap on Nicolas Ciamin (Fabia Rally2 evo-Oreca Store), Yoann Bonato (C3 Rally2-CHL Sport Auto) set the best time and took 2 seconds back from the Skoda driver.

On the provisional podium of rally, Pierre Roché (C3 Rally2-Team FJ) set the third time ahead of Patrick Rouillard (Fabia Rally2-Rouillard Sport).

Cédric Robert (A110 Rally-Bonneton HDG) lets precious seconds slip away in the rain against François Delecour (A110 Rally) and Julien Saunier (A110 Rally-Sébastien Loeb Racing Bardhal), author of the best time in the clan of Alpine. Second in R-GT16, Robert is forced to come back to stay in the match for the title of French 2WD Champion.

Fifth at the start this morning, Eric Mauffrey (Fabia Rally2 evo-Revo 6) made a mistake in this special.
