L’espoir n’aura duré que quatre spéciales pour Takamoto Katsuta. Le Japonais, 4e au départ de l’ES5 à seulement 7 secondes du leader et auteur du scratch lors de l’ES4, a vu ses chances de victoires être annihilées ce vendredi après-midi. Lors de la 5e spéciale, le pilote Toyota a tapé un mur de neige à haute vitesse. La Yaris, déstabilisée, s’est ensuite retournée pour terminer en tonneaux et finir sa course quelques dizaines de mètres plus loin.
