In the general classification, Tänak maintains a lead of 24″8 over Mikkelsen before the final special of the day, Römerstrasse 2. Sébastien Ogier has slightly reduced the gap to 7″ over Mikkelsen, and is 31″8 behind Tänak.

Elfyn Evans performed well in the special by taking fourth place from Juho Hänninen (Toyota), disturbed by a shock absorber problem. Three tenths separate the two drivers before SS17. Craig Breen (Citroën), Jari-Matti Latvala and Hayden Paddon still follow in that order in the standings.

Eric Camilli (Ford Fiesta R5) remains ninth overall and leader in WRC-2, and precedes Armin Kremer (Ford). Jan Kopecky (Skoda Fabia R5) took second place in WRC-2 from Pontus Tidemand (Skoda Fabia R5) by 3″3.
