Ott Tänak (Toyota) s’offre son 3e scratch consécutif au Rally of Germany by completing the 19,44km of Stein und Wein in 11'03''2 for 3 tenths ahead of Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport). Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) reste dans le rythme en suivant à 3 secondes devant Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) et Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota). Craig Breen (Citroën) followed 8 seconds behind in front of Dani Sordo (Hyundai) and Esapekka Lappi (Toyota). Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) remains in difficulty with more than 11 seconds behind, only ahead of Teemu Suninen (M-SPort) and Mads Ostberg (Citroën) who lost more than 23 seconds on the lead of the race by being slowed down by engine power losses.

Ott Tänak now has a 7”5 lead over Sébastien Ogier while Thierry Neuville is almost 7 seconds behind the Frenchman. Elfyn Evans climbs to 4th place, overtaking Finns Jari-Matti Latvala and Esapekka Lappi. Dani Sordo fell to 7th position. Craig Breen overtook Andreas Mikkelsen for a 2 second lead. Mads Ostberg remains 10th with less than 3 seconds ahead of Teemu Suninen.
