Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) a signé le scratch dans les 22,41km de Giulio Cesare – Mina Clavero avec un temps de 18’31’’3. Son coéquipier Andreas Mikkelsen est le plus proche avec 1’’5 de retard, ce qui lui permet de reprendre plus de dix secondes à Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport). Ott Tänak (Toyota) assure en restant à huit secondes de son rival direct. Kris Meeke (Citroën) a suivi à une douzaine de secondes devant Elfyn Evans (M-Sport), Esapekka Lappi (Toyota) et Teemu Suninen (M-Sport).
Ott Tänak maintains a lead of almost 41 seconds over Thierry Neuville. Dani Sordo remains on the provisional podium ahead of Sébastien Ogier who only has a 3”8 lead over Andreas Mikkelsen. Elfyn Evans remains sixth ahead of Kris Meeke, Esapekka Lappi and Teemu Suninen.
Kalle Rovanperä (Skoda) was in full attack in the special, being faster than some WRC before going off the road at full speed. The crew is fine, but the Fabia R5 is destroyed. His teammate Pontus Tidemand regains the lead of WRC 2.
