Chile – SS7: Neuville pushes hard, Meeke rolls

Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) signed the scratch in SS7 of Rally from Chile. By completing the 20,9km of Rio Lia in 13'55''1, the Belgian beat the leader Ott Tänak of 4 tenths. Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) a échoué à près de 6 secondes en finissant derrière Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) and Sébastien Loeb (Hyundai). The six-time champion WRC a précédé les Finlandais Teemu Suninen (M-Sport), Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) et Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) qui s’est classé à 20 secondes de la référence. Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) a fini à près de 25 secondes.

While in 5th place, Kris Meeke (Toyota) rolled in a slow corner. Despite a very damaged Yaris WRC, the Northern Irishman was able to reach the finish line more than 6 minutes late.

 

 

Ott Tänak now has almost 28 seconds ahead of Sébastien Ogier. The reigning champion retains his 2nd place with only 1''4 ahead of Thierry Neuville who took over Jari-Matti Latvala. Sébastien Loeb climbs into the Top 5, still ahead of Elfyn Evans. Teemu Suninen finds himself 7th ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen and Esapekka Lappi. Kalle Rovanperä (Skoda) remains at the top of the WRC 2 Pro, occupying 10th place, 38 seconds ahead of Mads Ostberg (Citroën).
