M-Sport, qui s?occupe du programme Ford en Championnat du Monde des Rallyes, a décidé de ne pas prendre part à l?Arctic Rally. Initialement, Mikko Hirvonen et Jari-Matti Latvala devaient y partager le volant de la nouvelle Fiesta WRC under competitive conditions. But Ford gave up following the big accident suffered by Jari-Matti Latvala and Mikka Anttila during testing in Sweden. The two men crashed at more than 150 km/h; if they are not injured, the Fiesta WRC requires significant repairs.
