Petter Solberg (Citroen C4 WRC) signed his third best time of the day, being fastest during SS10, during the second consecutive passage through the Sapporo super special. He beat Mikko Hirvonen (Ford Focus WRC), Sébastien Ogier (Citroën C4 WRC) and Sébastien Loeb (Citroën C4 WRC) by a tenth of a second.
