After SS12 in which he first consolidated his lead by setting the second fastest time, Jari-Matti Latvala (Ford Focus WRC) lost time in SS13, the second special stage of the day. Third, the leader of Rally from Finland was beaten by the two Sébastiens from the Citroën Total World Rally Team. Best time in this SS13, Sébastien Loeb (Citroën C4 WRC) grabs 7??3 and, although it remains fourth overall, it is only 25??0 behind the leader. Sébastien Ogier (Citroën C4 WRC), fastest driver in SS12, took 5?6 from Jari-Matti Latvala in SS13. He overtook Petter Solberg (Citroën C4 WRC) in the general classification and took second place, 15??2 behind the leader of the event.
Note that the rain that fell in the Jyväskylä region allowed Jari-Matti Latvala not to suffer too much from his position as opener at the start of the day. But not all Finns are celebrating since Kimi Räikkönen (Citroën C4 WRC) lost a lot of time this morning. He first lost more than nine minutes by going off the road in SS12, before suffering damage to his car in SS13.
