Ott Tänak (Ford) remains in difficulty with its Fiesta WRC. The pilot M-Sport a perdu plus d’une minute dans l’ES15 de La Bollène – Vésubie en raison de ses problèmes moteur et a écopé de 50s de pénalité pour être parti avec 5min de retard dans la spéciale.
Stéphane Lefebvre (Citroën) a signé le premier scratch de la C3 WRC en bouclant les 21,36km en 13’51’’1 avec 1’’5 d’avance sur Dani Sordo (Hyundai). L’Espagnol a repris 13 secondes à Craig Breen (DS 3).
While Sébastien Ogier (Ford) reste bien installé en tête de l’épreuve, Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) profite des soucis d’Ott Tänak pour prendre la 2e place. L’Estonien se retrouve sous la menace de Dani Sordo et Craig Breen, l’Espagnol pointant à 46s du podium provisoire après avoir repris l’avantage sur la DS 3 WRC pour 2s d’avance.
SS16 was canceled for safety reasons. The organizers noted too many spectators not respecting safety instructions. The Monte-Carlo Rally has already been mourned by the death of a spectator during the first stage. This news could allow Ott Tänak to save his place on the podium.
