Petter Solberg (Citroen C4 WRC), on the occasion of the first of the two passages planned for this Saturday in the Sapporo super special, has just set the best time, somewhat consolidating its first place in the general classification. He shaved two tenths of a second off his closest pursuers, Mikko Hirvonen (Ford Focus WRC, +4??5) and Sébastien Ogier (Citroën C4 WRC, +5??9). Jari-Matti Latvala (Ford Focus WRC, + 26??3), victim of a broken driveshaft, lost many seconds in this short special, falling to fifth place overall, behind Dani Sordo (Citroën C4 WRC, +15??7) and ahead of Sébastien Loeb (Citroën C4 WRC, +38??6).
