Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) entered the points after Evgeny Novikov (Ford) rolled while in ninth place. The crew involved in the accident fortunately escaped unhurt. Daniel Oliveira (Mini JCW WRC) also went off the road. The damage to the car is serious but the crew is in good health.
If Jari-Matti Latvala should return the head of the Rally from Australia to his teammate Mikko Hirvonen, the provisional leader of the event still wants to put his best foot forward. He scored the scratch for the special by covering the 30km of Plum Pudding (the longest special of the Rally Australia), in 16?26??3. Petter Solberg (Citroën) follows at 1??7 ahead of Mikko Hirvonen (+ 2??4), followed by the two Citroën drivers with Sébastien Ogier (+ 15??2) and Sébastien Loeb (+32??2).
Jari-Matti Latvala is in the lead with 19?7 ahead of his teammate. Petter Solberg is 38??3 behind the second Flying Finn.
