Sébastien Loeb signed the scratch in the second pass of Sunagawa. The Citroën driver is ahead of Dani Sordo by six tenths, while Jari-Matti Latvala tries to catch up with Petter Solberg by setting the third time (+1 second). But Petter Solberg resisted well, setting the fifth fastest time (+1.9 seconds) behind Sébastien Ogier who is content to protect his leading position (+1.1 seconds). Mikko Hirvonen completes the top six, finishing 5.1 seconds from the scratch.
