The second day of Rally of Bulgaria started with the SS5 and, already, Citroën is regaining its unchallenged domination. Sebastian Loeb achieved the best time and consolidated his first place in the general classification. He is still ahead of Dani Sordo and Petter Solberg, while Sébastien Ogier moved from sixth to fourth place, gaining almost forty seconds from Ford drivers Mikko Hirvonen and Jari-Matti Latvala. Kimi Räikkönen, who was able to restart, set the fifth time of the special, 54??1 behind Sébastien Loeb's time.

Ford drivers suffer from the choice of their tires, since the Focuses are shod with hard tires. The Citroëns, which started on soft tires, benefit from better grip, as the rubber does not heat up on these roads. In fact, in the general classification, the gaps could prove to be abysmal at the end of the morning.
