Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) a signé un nouveau scratch en bouclant les 21,26km de Hof-Finnskog en 10’06’’4 avec 2’’3 d’avance sur Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota). Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) a suivi à près de 4s juste devant Kris Meeke (Citroën), Ott Tänak (Ford) and Sébastien Ogier (Ford) slowed down by his position as opener. Elfyn Evans (Ford) finished around ten seconds behind the benchmark ahead of Dani Sordo (Hyundai). Stéphane Lefebvre (DS 3) ranked 21s ahead of his teammate Craig Breen on C3 WRC who lost almost half a minute by going off the road.
Thierry Neuville now has a 6s lead over Jari-Matti Latvala. Ott Tänak is almost half a minute ahead of Kris Meeke and Sébastien Ogier. Hayden Paddon marks time by finishing in 6th place, around ten seconds behind the reigning champion. Dani Sordo follows in 7th place ahead of Craig Breen and Mads Ostberg who gains one place with the retirement of Juho Hänninen (Toyota). Elfyn Evans completes the top ten with 7s ahead of Stéphane Lefebvre.
