Sébastien Ogier (Ford) scored his second scratch at the end of SS8 Rally Monte-Carlo (St-Léger-les-Mélèzes – La-Bâtie-Neuve), dernier parcours de la deuxième étape, en bouclant les 16,83km en 11’05’’4. Le pilote M-Sport a encore repris plus de 7 secondes à Thierry Neuville (Hyundai). Le leader de l’épreuve affirme avoir perdu une dizaine de secondes en ayant eu des soucis de moteur avec notamment une panne de turbo. Ott Tänak (Ford) finished 12 seconds behind the Hyundai driver and almost 20 seconds behind his teammate.
Finishing 7''5 behind the Estonian, Dani Sordo (Hyundai) took 13 seconds back Craig Breen (DS 3) qui a glissé dans un fossé. Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) a fini à 37 secondes du Français après être parti en tête-à-queue.
On the evening of the second stage, Thierry Neuville retains the lead of the Monte-Carlo Rally by 45 seconds over Sébastien Ogier who took second place from Ott Tänak by 3 tenths. Jari-Matti Latvala remains well established in 4th place ahead of Dani Sordo who regained 5th place for 6 seconds ahead of Craig Breen.
