SS9: Ott Tänak wide awake

Ott Tänak (Ford) started the second stage of the Rally of Sweden by signing the scratch in the SS9 of Knon by completing the 31,6km in 13'45''5. Sébastien Ogier (Ford) was the closest with 2”6 behind, while Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) s’est classé à moins de 4s en reprenant 2’’5 à Jari-Matti Latvala.

Dani Sordo (Hyundai) followed at 13s, finishing one second ahead of Kris Meeke (Citroën). Craig Breen (Citroën) ranked 16s between Mads Ostberg (Ford) and Elfyn Evans (Ford). Stéphane Lefebvre (DS 3) was almost a minute behind.

Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) lost more than a minute in the special after his power steering broke.

Thierry Neuville now has more than half a minute ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala. Ott Tänak comes back 15 seconds behind the Finn. Sébastien Ogier gains a place ahead of Kris Meeke by 8s. Dani Sordo and Craig Breen took advantage of Hayden Paddon's troubles to gain a position, while the New Zealander fell to 8th position ahead of Elfyn Evans and Stéphane Lefebvre.
