Spain – SS15: Loeb takes the lead!

Sébastien Loeb (Citroën) signed its second scratch at the Rally d’Espagne en bouclant les 16,35km de Riudecanyes, première spéciale de la dernière étape, en 10’22’’6. En misant sur les pneus durs contrairement à ses adversaires qui ont préféré les tendres, l’Alsacien a repris une nette avance sur ses opposants. Les Hyundai by Dani Sordo and Thierry Neuville were the closest with more than 6 seconds behind. Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) a lâché 6’’6 tandis que Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) a échoué à 4 secondes du quintuple champion WRC !

 

 

This scratch allows Sébastien Loeb to take the lead in the Rally of Spain, 2s ahead of Jari-Matti Latvala. Sébastien Ogier also loses a position but is only 6 tenths behind the Finn. Elfyn Evans (M-Sport finds himself 7 seconds from the provisional podium with less than a second ahead of Thierry Neuville. Dani Sordo remains 7th ahead of the Toyotas of Esapekka Lappi and Ott Tänak separated by a little more than 6 seconds. Craig Breen (Citroën) and Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) complete the Top 10 ahead of Teemu Suninen (M-Sport).

Kalle Rovanperä (Skoda) remains at the lead of WRC 2 with 20 seconds ahead of Jan Kopecky (Skoda). Petter Solberg (Volkswagen) took advantage of the troubles of Nil Solans (Ford) to climb back into the top three in the category.
