Spain – SS4: Latvala punctures, Loeb regains the rhythm

Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) était parti pour signer le scratch dans les 38,85km de La Fatarella-Vilalba, la plus longue spéciale du Rally of Spain, but the Finn lost 40 seconds following a left-rear puncture.

Le scratch est revenu à Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai), auteur d’un chrono de 27’01’’2 qui a devancé d’un dixième Ott Tänak (Toyota). Helped by his advantageous position on the road, Sébastien Loeb (Citroën) a suivi à 2 secondes en devançant Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) and Esapekka Lappi (Toyota).

Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) did well by finishing 6 seconds behind the benchmark, ahead of Dani Sordo (Hyundai) and Craig Breen (Citroën), but Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) lost 17 seconds opening the road. Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) suffers, losing almost 40 seconds.

 

 

Ott Tänak retains the lead of the Rally of Spain with a dozen seconds lead over Ekfyn Evans who becomes his closest opponent. Dani Sordo follows just over 7 seconds behind with 4 seconds ahead of teammate Andreas Mikkelsen. Sébastien Ogier follows the Norwegian with a second delay, only 3 seconds ahead of his compatriot Sébastien Loeb. Craig Breen slips to 7th place ahead of Thierry Neuville, Esapekka Lappi and Jari-Matti Latvala who completes the Top 10 ahead of Teemu Suninen. Ken Block (M-Sport) is already more than 3 minutes from the lead of the race.
