Si Ott Tänak (Toyota) a signé le scratch dans les 12,33km d’Ässämäki, ses coéquipiers ont perdu quelques précieuses secondes suite à des crevaisons lentes. Kris Meeke a échoué à 3’’1 de la référence tandis que Jari-Matti Latvala a fini à 3 dixièmes du Nord-Irlandais.
Craig Breen (Hyundai) a été le plus proche du scratch avec une seconde de retard. L’Irlandais a devancé Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) et Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) qui reprennent une seconde à Sébastien Ogier (Citroen). Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) finished between the Yaris WRC puncture victims. The Fords of Teemu Suninen and Gus Greensmith were again the slowest.
Ott Tänak retains the lead Rally of Finland with a lead of 4”2 over Kris Meeke, while Jari-Matti Latvala follows almost 6 seconds behind. Esapekka Lappi threatens his compatriot by coming back to 3 tenths of the provisional podium. Craig Breen remains 5th, now 1''5 ahead of Sébastien Ogier, threatened by Andreas Mikkelsen, back to 7 tenths. Thierry Neuville gained a place by taking over Teemu Suninen.
