L’Irlandais devance Esapekka Lappi (Toyota), Elfyn Evans (M-Sport), Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) and Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) who made a high-speed pass into a ditch just before the finish.

Hyundai drivers Andreas Mikkelsen and Thierry Neuville still lost time. The Norwegian lost around twelve seconds while being hampered by poor visibility due to his cracked windshield, while the Championship leader spun. The Belgian lost half a minute and part of his rear bumper.

Ott Tänak takes the lead of Rally Finland by 1 seconds over Mads Ostberg. Jari-Matti Latvala remains on the provisional podium with 1 seconds ahead of Hayden Paddon who takes 4th place from Teemu Suninen. Elfyn Evans follows in 4th place ahead of her teammate Sébastien Ogier. Esapekka Lappi and Craig Breen took advantage of Thierry Neuville's error to gain a position while the Belgian fell to 6th position.
