Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) s’est offert son 4e scratch au Rally of Finland by winning the Äänekoski SS6 by completing the 7,8km in 3'38''1. The Finn took 2 seconds from his teammate Kris Meeke and Sébastien Ogier (Citroen). Ott Tänak (Toyota) and Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) ont terminé à une demi-seconde. C’est Craig Breen (Hyundai) which was the closest, failing very close to the scratch with a tenth behind. Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) finished less than 3 seconds ahead of the Fords of Teemu Suninen and Gus Greensmith.

Ott Tänak conserve la tête du Rallye de Finlande avec un peu plus de 5 secondes d’avance sur Jari-Matti Latvala et Kris Meeke. Le Finlandais a pris l’avantage sur le Nord-Irlandais pour 4 dixièmes. Esapekka Lappi est revenu à une seconde du podium provisoire. Craig Breen complète toujours le Top 5 devant Sébastien Ogier et Andreas Mikkelsen. Thierry Neuville est quelque peu isolé au 8e rang devant les pilotes M-Sport.
