The ES1 of Rally de Finlande, disputée par une chaleur caniculaire, a permis à Petter Solberg (Citroën C4 WRC) de s?installer aux commandes du Rallye de Finlande. Sur cette spéciale mixte de 4,2 km, avec un kilomètre sur asphalte et trois sur terre, le Champion du Monde 2003 s?est montré le plus efficace en terminant en 2?33??2. Il devance Mikko Hirvonen (Ford Focus WRC, + 1??0), Sébastien Loeb (Citroën C4 WRC, + 1??6), Jari Matti Latvala (Ford Focus WRC, + 1??6), Sébastien Ogier (Citroën C4 WRC, + 3??2), Henning Solberg (Ford Focus WRC, + 3??2) et Dani Sordo (Citroën C4 WRC, + 3??8).
