Ford announced the strengthening of its involvement in Junior WRC, échelon d’accès à la pyramide du Championnat du Monde des Rallyes, en devant partenaire officiel de la série. La marque américaine travaille déjà de concert avec M-Sport Pologne dans le développement des Ford Fiesta R2T utilisées par les jeunes talents.
Ford officially left the WRC as a full-fledged manufacturer at the end of 2012, leaving M-Sport to lead the charge ever since with cars built and developed in-house by Malcolm Wilson's troops.
