Teemu Suninen (M-Sport Ford) a pris le meilleur départ ce vendredi matin au Rally from Italy-Sardinia. The Finn from the British team places his Ford Fiesta RS at the head of the second special of the event, with the scratch achieved in 18'45″0, 4″8 ahead of his teammate Elfyn Evans.

Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) signe le troisième chrono à 6″5 de Suninen et précède Kris Meeke (Toyota), Dani Sordo (Hyundai), pourtant victime d’une crevaison à l’arrière-gauche, et Thierry Neuville (Hyundai), the best placed of the three main favorites for the world title, and clocked at 10″8.

Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) follows at 11″1 ahead Ott Tänak (Toyota) at 11″4, while Sébastien Ogier (Citroën), which opens the road this Friday and has to deal with the sweeping phenomenon, concedes 16″7. Juho Hänninen (Toyota), back in WRC this weekend, lost more than 25″ on this time.

In the general classification, Teemu Suninen takes control of the Rally Italy-Sardinia with a 5″ lead over Elfyn Evans. Kris Meeke completes the provisional podium at 8″8 ahead of his teammates Latvala at 8″9 and Tänak at 10″1. The Hyundais of Neuville and Sordo follow at 11″ and Mikkelsen at 11″6, while the two Citroën C3s of Lappi and Ogier complete the top 10 at 13″ and 15″1. Hänninen points at more than 30″.

In WRC2 Pro, Mads Ostberg was stopped in the special, after probable contact with his Citroën C3 R5.
