Returning to WRC1 after two rallies in the Ford Fiesta WRC2, Teemu Suninen (M-Sport) was nevertheless off to a good start in the first special of the Rally of Italy. Unfortunately for him, he lost the rear of his Ford in the last section of SS1. Returning to the side of the road after finishing his race on his door, the Finn damaged his mount too much and will not be able to leave this Friday, his team announced.
