The latest FIA World Council has confirmed the selection of the supplier of the standard hybrid system which will be installed on the WRC from 2022. It is the company Compact Dynamics based in Starnberg (Germany), a subsidiary of the Shaeffler group engaged with Audi in Formula e, which was chosen for a duration of three seasons.
The FIA also studied the future technical regulations in order to keep the same 1.6l engine blocks currently used to reduce development costs.
