Following the announcement of the cancellation of Wales Rally GB (in the face of uncertainties linked to the coronavirus pandemic), Motorsport UK, the governing body of British motorsport, has confirmed the premature end of the 2020 British Rally Championship season.

The Wales Rally GB was to consist of two rounds of the championship, thus reducing the national calendar, which had already seen the postponements of the Clonakility Park Hotel West Cork Rally, Corbeau Seats Rally Tendring & Clacton and the Ulster Rally. to 2021.

Le Rally of Ypres and the Armstrong Galloway Hills Rally were to make up the end of the season with the Wales Rally GB, following on from the only event contested until then, the Cambrian Rally last February.
