The margins of the victory of Ott Tänak (Toyota) at the Rally of Finland, the president of Toyota Motor Corporation et du Toyota Gazoo Racing en Championnat du monde des rallyes (WRC) Akyo Toyoda publicly campaigned for the return of a world round in Japan, as was the case between 2004 and 2010.
« Currently we do not have a WRC round in Japan. Looking up at the podium, I imagined these three flags (Finnish, Estonian, Japanese) floating in our other home, Japan. I really hope that happens one day. » The Land of the Rising Sun hopes to be part of the WRC again for 2019.
