The promoters of WRC have signed a several-year partnership with the Japanese chemical company Asahi Kasei which will come into effect from Rally from Germany (August 16-19).
“I welcome Asahi Kasei to the WRC family, which is seeing its repertoire of partners grow. This indicates an increased presence of the WRC in Asia”, comments Oliver Ciesla, WRC promotion director.
This partnership notably reinforces speculation about a return of the Rally of Japan to the world level. The last edition dates back to 2010 when Sébastien Ogier won on his Citroën C4 WRC.
