Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) went off the road a few meters from the finish of Guanajuatito, SS10 of Rally of Mexico, 25,9km long. The Finn in 5th position lost the rear of his C3 WRC in a left turn and got stuck in a ditch. The special had to be interrupted.
Kris Meeke (Toyota) a tout de même eu le temps de signer un chrono impressionnant en 17’44’’9 où il a devancé Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) d’une douzaine de secondes. Ott Tänak (Toyota) a suivi à 19 secondes en précédant les Hyundai de Thierry Neuville, Andreas Mikkelsen and Dani Sordo.
The general classification must be updated with fixed times. Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) had incredible luck by having a puncture on the front right when the special was interrupted following the exit of his Finnish teammate.
