Ott Tänak (Hyundai) s’offre son premier scratch de la deuxième étape au Rally du Mexique. Le champion en titre a repris près de 3 secondes à Elfyn Evans (Toyota) dans les 21,78km de Derramadero et plus de 6 secondes à Sébastien Ogier (Toyota) et Teemu Suninen (M-Sport). Malgré une sortie de route, Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) finished around ten seconds ahead of Kalle Rovanperä (Toyotaà and Gus Greensmith (M-Sport).
Sébastien Ogier returns to service with more than 28 seconds ahead of Teemu Suninen who only has a 6”6 lead over Ott Tänak. Elfyn Evans finds himself more than 9 seconds behind the Estonian. Kalle Rovanperä remains 5th.
