Sébastien Ogier (M-Sport) déroule au Rally du Mexique. Le quintuple champion du monde a signé son quatrième scratch consécutif en bouclant les 9,97 d’El Brinco, l’ES16 de l’épreuve, en 5’24 »6. Kris Meeke (Citroën) est le plus proche avec 2 »6 de retard, suivi à un dixième par Dani Sordo (Hyundai). Sebastian Loeb (Citroën) also finished less than three seconds behind the benchmark.
Sébastien Ogier now has 37” over Kris Meeke ahead of the three super specials which will conclude the second stage of Rally Mexico. Dani Sordo is 1”7 behind the Northern Irishman. Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai) still occupies fourth position with 4 seconds ahead of Sébastien Loeb. Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) remains sixth after having suffered another scare on the course by going off the track following contact with an embankment.
