Sébastien Ogier (Citroën) took the scratch in the 17,28km of Ortega, the SS3 of Rally from Mexico, with a time of 9'29''0. The six-time champion WRC a devancé d’une demi-seconde Dani Sordo (Hyundai). Jari-Matti Latvala (Toyota) and Elfyn Evans (M-Sport) ont suivi à un peu plus d’une seconde devant Andreas Mikkelsen (Hyundai), Esapekka Lappi (Citroën) et Kris Meeke (Toyota).

Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) and Ott Tänak (Toyota) further suffered from their position on the road, the Belgian being more than 6 seconds behind the benchmark while the Estonian is 7 seconds behind.

 

 

Andreas Mikkelsen retains the lead of Rally Mexico with a 7 tenths lead over Sébastien Ogier, while Dani Sordo still completes the provisional podium. Elfyn Evans moved up to 4th place, just over a second ahead of Kris Meeke. Jari-Matti Latvala remains 6th ahead of his compatriot Esapekka Lappi. Ott Tänak and Thierry Neuville complete the WRC rankings.

 

 

The first stage will end with the 1,11km Street Stage Leon contested from 19:59 p.m.
