The category podium WRC-2 from Rally Monte-Carlo was turned upside down after the finish, following the penalty inflicted on Guillaume de Mévius. The pilot of the Peugeot 208 T16 R5 n°35 received a sanction of 19′ for too light battery (3,65 kh, against 8 kg minimum stipulated by the regulations).

If the car ran at the regulatory mass throughout the event, the commissioners finally decided to penalize the Belgian. The appeal remains possible but before a possible procedure, the Italian Eddie Sciessere (Citroën DS3 R5) recovers second position while Teemu Suninen (Ford Fiesta R5) climbs onto the podium.
