Thierry Neuville and Nicolas Gilsoul (Hyundai) ont le couteau entre les dents. Les Belges ont subtilisé la tête du Monte-Carlo 2020 au détriment d’Elfyn Evans et Scott Martin (Toyota) grâce à un nouveau temps scratch, réalisé dans l’ES14.

Between La Cabanette and the Col de Braus, the outgoing world vice-champions struck hard. The Toyota Yaris were soundly beaten, with Elfyn Evans rejected at 5″4 and Sébastien Ogier distanced by 12″2.

In the general ranking, Hyundai representatives move to first place. Elfyn Evans clings to 4″ from the leaders, while the task promises to be difficult for Sébastien Ogier (3rd at 11″2).

The disappointment of the special concerns Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena (Hyundai). The nine-time world champions conceded their fourth place to Esapekka Lappi and Janne Ferm (Ford) following a driving error. Fortunately for them, spectators put the Hyundai back on the right path:
