Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) is he awake? The first special stage on Friday at Monte-Carlo allowed his rivals to close the gap in the general classification.

Credited with the best time, Elfyn Evans (Toyota) is only 5″4 behind the Belgian. French Sébastien Ogier (Toyota) follows him at 7″1 behind Thierry Neuville. On an icy portion, Ott Tänak (Hyundai) got a scare by hitting the side of the road and spinning off but drove faster than the Gapençais.

This passage trapped Gus Greensmith (Ford), who fell into a small ravine and above all the leader of the WRC 2, Mads Ostberg (Citroën). The latter lost several minutes changing a flat tire.

The veteran Sébastien Loeb (Hyundai) was very responsive early in the morning. The Alsatian sets the second best time and is 33″1 behind his colleague Thierry Neuville.
