Russell Brookes has died aged 74. Double British Rally Champion, he notably faced Ari Vatanen and Jimmy McRae, Colin's father, at the wheel of Ford Escort RS1800 and his famous Opel Manta 400. He has 22 starts in WRC with 3 consecutive podiums at Wales Rally GB between 1977 and 1979, with a 2nd place achieved in the final year.
