Third of Rally of France last Sunday behind Sébastien Loeb and Dani Sordo, Petter Solberg seemed delighted with his performance. The Norwegian, who is on the podium for the sixth time this season, is currently fourth in the championship, and is 11 points behind Jari-Matti Latvala in third.
“I am very happy with this result, declares the 2003 world champion. We hadn't done any testing in muddy conditions before this rally, so it took us a little while to nail down the perfect set-up. But we found it on Saturday night, and from then on we were in rhythm. It?s great to be on the podium, with the two Citroën drivers. I really enjoyed the battle this weekend. I have to admit that I thought Jari-Matti would catch us when we went out in the second stage (Sunday, Editor's note), but luckily for us, that wasn't the case. »
